Their bodies become vessels of corruption, and their repulsive presence serves as both shield and weapon against those who oppose them.


Mechanically, the Unhygienic Monk functions as a front-line controller who specializes in poison and acid damage, defensive debuffs, and battlefield disruption. Their combat style revolves around staying close to enemies, forcing disadvantage, inflicting the poisoned condition, and becoming increasingly difficult to harm as their filth hardens into protection.



Level 3 Features:


UnBrushed Mouth:

At the 3rd level, you have fully embraced the dirty and unclean aspects of the world. This causes a noxious aura to emanate from your body, which can be quite unpleasant for those who come into close proximity to you. However, this unpleasant odor can be an advantage in certain situations. You gain an advantage to intimidation rolls to any creature within a 10-feet from you if they are able to smell.


Toxic Strikes:

At 3rd level, your unhygienic lifestyle has imbued your strikes with deadly toxins. Whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can add an additional martial arts die of poison or acid damage to the attack.


Reasoning:

These features establish the subclass’s identity early by enhancing social intimidation at close range and significantly increasing damage output through poison or acid. The design reinforces the monk’s role as a melee combatant whose effectiveness scales through repeated strikes rather than burst damage.


Level 6 Features:


Foul Aura:

Your personal hygiene has reached new lows, but it comes with a benefit. Creatures within 10 feet of you are distracted and must make their first attack made against you at disadvantage. Once a creature has been distracted, subsequent attacks against you are made normally.


Toxic Chi:

You have learned to harness the power of your odious odor. By expending chi points equal to your proficiency modifier, you can unleash a cloud of poisonous gas. All creatures within a radius of 10 feet per chi point spent must make a constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of your next turn.


Reasoning:

These abilities enhance survivability and battlefield control. Foul Aura allows the monk to withstand close-range pressure, while Toxic Chi scales naturally with level, offering flexible area control without overwhelming encounter balance.


Level 11 Features:


Magical Toxins:

As you reach the 11th level, your chi has permeated every aspect of your being, even your foul odor and uncleanliness. Your attacks with poison and acid become imbued with magical power, bypassing resistances and immunities of your foes. Additionally, your ability to inflict the poisoned condition becomes more potent and bypass condition immunity.


Slick and Slimy Defense:

Upon reaching the 11th level, your accumulated grime has become a protective barrier, hardened into a slimy armor that allows you to shrug off blows. Your Armor Class increases by an amount equal to half your proficiency bonus. Furthermore, you can move through rough terrain magical or not as if it were normal.


Reasoning:

At this tier, monsters commonly resist poison and acid. Magical Toxins ensures subclass relevance, while Slick and Slimy Defense reinforces durability and mobility, allowing the monk to maintain front-line presence.


Level 17 Features:


Pinnacle of Uncleanliness:

At 17th level, you have ascended to become the pinnacle of uncleanliness as a monk. You are immune to diseases, poison/acid damage, and the poison condition. Your body has become a vessel of filth, granting you unmatched resilience against any unclean elements in the world.


Noxious Stun:

At 17th level, your stench has become so overpowering that it can disrupt even the most focused creatures. As a bonus action or reaction and spending 1 chi point, you can force a creature within 30 feet to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is stunned. The noxious fumes emanating from your body can distract and weaken even the strongest of foes, making you a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.


Reasoning:

These capstone abilities expand on existing monk immunities while providing a high-impact control option that supplements Stunning Strike without replacing it.
